Martin Luther King Jr. (January 15, 1929-April 4, 1968)

"Dr. King gives his "I Have a Dream" speech to tens of thousands of supporters gathered in the nation's capital at the conclusion of the civil rights movement's March on Washington" (TIME mag)

"Dr. King addresses thousands of supporters gathered near the Reflecting Pool in Washington, DC, on May 17, 1957 during a "Prayer Pilgrimage" organized by the civil rights movement" (TIME mag)

Teddy Ruxpin....................I HATED THIS THING!!!

You wanna scare someone on Halloween this year? Buy a Teddy Ruxpin (a used one preferrably with the face peeling off like the terminator), and wait just when the batteries are about to run out.....now hang this bear at your door with a sign to press the paw....."AHHHHHHHHH"....I still have evil thoughts of waking up in our tiny 1BR apartment in Brooklyn and seeing those eyes just looking at me....Why would anyone torment their kids with this thing? Sure it starts off all cute talking and reading you a story, but you'll see!

The Most Evil Toy Known To Kids!

HomeRoom Clothing................Man I Miss HomeRoom!

For this season, Homeroom paid homage to regular conversation or hot topics in the wonderful world of pop culture......Now I don't go to clubs as often as I used to (I'm not attracted to that scene as much), and a couple of weeks ago pushed me even further from the velvet rope. I was enjoying myself with a few friends and I overheard a female (she didn't look her age btw) conversing with her friend drop the HR bomb. She apparently had "homeroom tomorrow"......I don't know whether she was a teacher or not, but something just made me think "fake id".....well anyway, what does this story have to do with HomeRoom Clothing (beside the name of course)? Absolutely nothing....I just wanted to share this little story with you, and I'm pretty sure you're scratching your heads on this one(Hah, enjoy the pics below)....

Johnny Cupcakes- This Would Be My Idea Of Matching Shirts......

Shouts to the good folk at Johnny Cupcakes. Even though they're from Boston (ahem), they're good people......Well anyway, they've realeased some Sickness for the spring/ summer of 08 that I really like. Now I need a female to go shopping with me, and we can wear these together and have a wide range of onlookers poke and make fun of us for doing something so incredibly corny and cliche(HAH). Cliche as it seems to match with your spouse, I doubt you'll get joked on for sporting Johnny Cupcakes though!

You can check out the previous post by clicking HERE (First time I've linked myself....."sob of happiness"). Well back to the story; I woke up this morning and was checking out the NY Times on line and can you guess what I saw? Who says Polos are for men?..............Canterbury of New Zealand

I realized something I love to see on a woman as I was sitting down and drawing the other night, Polo shirts. Its not just the act of wearing a polo shirt, but the basic fact that the women who choose to wear these shirts have a sick swag (plus, I honestly think that women and only women should be able to get away with the popped collar look). Anyway in my search for the best female polos, I wanted to stray away from Ralph Lauren (need I say more?). So I went to one of my bookmarked sites Canterbury of New Zealand to shop for myself, and I remembered that they have a sick collection for ladies as well. Ranging from the classic short sleeved to long sleeved polo shirts, Canterbury of New Zealand has stayed relevant in the rugby shirt/ uniform game since 1904. They have expanded their collection to even include a range of checked and striped buttondowns, cargo/board shorts, pants, merino sweaters, and track jackets. Witness the sickness below:

Margaret Howell..............Being Nerdy Never Looked So Good!

I love the Spring/ Summer Collection from Margaret Howell.........How much? So much that I really couldn't find any words to explain it.....all I could do is provide you what I was looking at. Light colors that deflect sunshine, but attract green eyes from those that can't pull off what you can...tee hee!

Lucky Loves Art................And I Love Legos (I can't help it)

In the 3rd grade, I was the victim of a very severe car accident involving a drunk driver. During my time of recovery, I remember getting the greatest gift in the world (besides the love of my family and friends of course) and that would be my favorite toys, legos! Legos are the perfect tool for art in my opinion. The same way as clay, they start off as a mound or heap (hah, can't believe I finally used that word) of nothing into something beautiful. Below are a few intricate lego art pieces I've noticed lately. The first being a collection of ballparks built of Lego I've been admiring on homerunderby.com. The second set are a few classic scenes captured in photography recreated by artist Mike Stimpson (I was going to post this first but "HE" beat me to it).

Camden Yards - Baltimore Orioles

Citizens Bank Park - Philadelphia Phillies

Yankee Stadium - New York Yankees (Where are My METS???)

"Where In The World is Carmen San Diego?"..................I Miss "Good TV"

What happened to good television? I miss the days when tv kid edutainment existed and shows like this helped make the afternoon indoors fun!

Gourmet Spring 2008...............Ummm, the choice is yours!

Many people consider Gourmet as Jordan knockoffs, but lets be real people; Nike hasn't sued Bape so that leads me to think that an agreement was reached so as for these shoes, maybe the same thing. I like the colorways that they come through with (not all of them though). Love them or hate them, this brand is back with two different styles reminiscent of the AJ XII and the AJ XIII. Its an acquired taste, so I can't call it....

Yo MTV Raps Returns This April..............

MTV plans on airing re-runs of this show to satisfy you retro junkies. I grew up on Flava Videos, and we didn't get cable until the late 90's (and that was well after the shows demise in 95), but I did manage to get in a few episodes of Yo MTV Raps while it was in full swing. The reruns will be nice, but I hope they don't plan on bringing the show back because with the rappers out there now (ahem...Lil Wayne, Soulja Boi)...I doubt it'll work!

Express Yourself...................Urban Tailor

Everyone says they have style, and everyone thinks that they're the best thing since sliced bread (ouch, I hate that cliche). Now one of the biggest things in the urban community is track jackets, and hoodies. Every corner you turn, someone is sporting either a BBC, or a Warhol or even the original Champion (I'd still rock em). Some people agree with me on the horrible designs that have graced these hoodies but what would you do if you had the opp. of putting your personal style to the test? Is there actually someone out there willing to give you a canvas to display your personal syle? Ladies and Fellowmen, LuckysinLove.com proudly brings you Urban Tailor......shouts to the homie Thrill who stated: " Bangkok-based UT lends you godlike control over the creation of hand-cut and tailored hoodies" (freedom of speach on their choice of words)........

Where I Wanna Be.....................MURAKAMI exhibit in Brooklyn.....SICKNESS!

As many of you know, LuckysinLove with art.....and no culture has had a bigger effect on me more than the Japanese culture. From their way of living (small apartment spaces) to the fashion (high end, futuristic with bright colors), the Japanese culture is actually light years ahead of us (and we don't even have to mention technology). Well anyhoo, one of my favorite artist Takashi Murakami will "have more than ninety works in various media that span the artist’s entire career, installed in more than 18,500 square feet of gallery space" at (drumroll please) the Brooklyn Museum......OMG, I can't wait for this one!!!
