Jonas Samson: Crazy Wallpaper!

"We know you look back fondly on those high school days of zoning out to your trippy Pink Floyd black light poster in your bedroom, and while you may have outgrown that zoning out phase that doesn’t mean you’ve outgrown the need for having your wall illuminated with imagery. Jonas Samson has designed a high-tech, light-emitting wallpaper proving it “possible to use a two-dimensional flat surface as light source instead of a 3D object.” So not only can you toss that black light, maybe you should say goodbye to your desk lamp that you’re always knocking over as well. There’s a new light fixture in town, and it’s on your wall" LoL at this Josh Spear intro, because its definately reminicent of the "trippy" days, dig?

This is something BIG people.....please protect yourself. STD's are on the rise!

The number of Americans newly infected with a sexually transmitted disease (STD) continues to rise, federal health officials say, with one infection in particular -- chlamydia - hitting an record million-plus new cases annually.

Numbers from 2006 show that cases of chlamydia, as well as gonorrhea and syphilis, continued to increase in the United States for the second year in a row, according to a new report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Ladies and Fellowmen, Check out PEOPLE LIKE US For Artistic Expression Like No Other

"People Like Us is not just our name. It’s our mantra, our maxim, our motto. Our adage, our aphorism, our epigram. It’s the how, who and why we do business.

We make things for people just like us. People who know and love good design.
People who appreciate something a little unique, a little stand-out.
People who know the value of being an individual in a society overrun with mass produced, cheap and nasty we-deserve-your-business-because-we’re-bigger-than–everyone-else type products and services.

We design and produce our products for you – the People Like Us"

"People Like Us, the Australian tee company headed by Spear Collective’s very own Jeremy Somers, just released their Summer 08 line of tees and iPod protectors......Artists like Matei Apostolescu, Chuck Anderson, and Jeremy Somers himself contributed to the new designs" Trust me on this people, the full extent of expression using art is what has skyrocketed so many clothing companies and modern corporations..........Style Up, dig?

I'm gonna show ya'll the the Ipod's first:

Something New For Y'all............Check OutPUBLIC SCHOOL nyc for 2008!

"They say that clothes make the man and while the jury’s out on just who “they” are, that doesn’t mean you can’t take their word for it. Instead of standing around lolly-gagging, waiting for your manhood to be made by that ripped t-shirt you’ve had since high school and those corduroy pants you’ve been rocking since grunge was in, maybe you should just consider upgrading your wardrobe. We’re certainly not suggesting you enter the realm of the suit, we’re merely suggesting you get a head start on looking more say, 2008. Public School, the new men’s young designer collection could be the key to unlocking your fashion potential.

Product of fashion industry veterans Dao-Yi Chow (co-owner of Miami’s Arrive) and Maxwell Osborne (a former designer at Sean John), marries the highest of high fashion with the lowest of the low and takes on various influences in both art and culture in order to capture “the attitude and rebellious spirit of New York”. In fact, the brand’s logo, a black apple with a feather quill is meant to encapsulate the Big Apple’s “edgier side and an underlying quest for knowledge”. New York isn’t the only influence here though as the clothing melds European tailoring with the a Japanese streetwear sensibility. Look for it in January of 2008." Joshspear.com

Takashi Murakami retrospective, LA. You can check out more on Takashi Murakami HERE, or his name.com lol

"Takashi Murakami is a prolific contemporary Japanese artist."

"Murakami works in both fine arts media, such as painting; as well as digital and commercial media. He attempts to blur the boundaries between high and low art. He appropriates popular themes from mass media and pop culture, then turns them into thirty-foot sculptures, "Superflat" paintings, or marketable commercial goods such as figurines or phone caddies."

"Murakami attended the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, initially studying more traditionalist Japanese art. He pursued a doctorate in Nihonga, a mixture of Western and Eastern styles dating back to the late 19th century. However, due to the mass popularity of anime and manga, Japanese styles of animation and comic graphic stories, Murakami became disillusioned with Nihonga, and became fixated on otaku culture. Otaku culture is most often an unfavorable reference to a “nerd” society, consisting of people that take an obsessive interest in manga or anime. He felt that otaku culture was more representative of modern day Japanese life."

Here are some of his works displayed in LA:
