Merz- Lotus............sob at the Creativity....SiCkNeSs!

A great song by an incredible artist. It took me a while to get this video, but if you listen to the words as you watch it......timeless. If you still can't get it, here are the lyrics that helped me:

"we sit in cars
we sit in planes
you're dead right
for me

you're dead right
you're always right
you're on the right
side of me"

BETA spaces 08................Someone Might Be Going Out On A Date!

BETA Spaces
(Bushwick Exhibition Triangle of Alternative Spaces)

Check out the full poster by clicking
HERE

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9th, 2008 from 11am to 7pm
BETA Spaces is a day of multi-disciplinary group art shows, which encourages artists to transform the private and public spaces of Bushwick into exhibition spaces: living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, studios, streets, subways, sidewalks, and gardens. The festival will take place within a 10-block triangle south of Johnson Street, east of Bushwick Avenue, and west of Jefferson Avenue. The compact geographic nature of the festival is designed to provide the public an unbeatable opportunity to visit dozens of venues and experience hundreds of artists within a short period of time. (In comparison, our annual Bushwick Open Studios Festival (BOS) usually features 100+ locations spread geographically across 3 square miles!)

Nicole Richie..............Hidden Brilliance???

EVERYONE has a hidden talent...........EVERYONE....period. Nicole Richie has been attacked by the media on her relationships, friendships and intelligence so much that we forget, EVERYONE has a hidden talent. Well when Ms. Richie dropped her 60's inspired jewelry collection House of Harlow, we didn't know what to expect.....I am soooooo happy it came out this impressively.....enjoy!

Insa Heels: Its Like "Sex In The City" meets "Beat Street"........I Like That One...

"The brand new line of London-based, limited-edition designs is the perfect marriage of sexy and edgy. The first collection consists of just three patterns, each printed onto the leather of round-toe, ten-centimeter stilettos then finished with a high gloss"......trust me, if you're a sneakerhead, you definately understand.

"INSA's world is one where fetishism, desire and graffiti collide; through extensive street level work and fine art INSA has taken the iconic high heel image and made it his own, infusing a simple, yet clever, graphic 'logo' with meaning and relevance. High heels represent a myriad of different things to different people; sex, money, fashion, the battle between masculine and feminine sexuality, dominant and submissive, consumerism and object fetishism; all of which are themes actively explored in INSA's work. Heels themselves are often, of course, objects of desire and objets d'art in their own right"....I get turned on just reading this...

The fantasy of 'INSA HEELS' is now a reality...

What I'm buggin out on is the shere brilliance of combining femme-chic with "graph"....Pure SICKNESS!

SHANICKERS..........I'm Trying To Think of Something Smart......Oh Well!

"I create everything from my mind and my surroundings because I am an artist, and I MUST create!
Shannon Lynn Jernigan

If only you knew how jealous I am at the pure originality of that statement......LoL....Do you ever look at your room, apartment and think; "What can I do to make this place stand out?" Well this one is a real treat....Art that shows your originality and helps you express "you"! Anyone who can show me "monkey art" is cool with me......enjoy!

If I'm Going Out.........I'm Goin Out With "Guns Blazing"

"Justin Melnick is an avid photographer, digital artist, and has spent time oversees in the Middle East. All of these influences have come together in his latest project, titled Arm Me, Melnick imagines — quite vividly — what Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Pucci, and Chanel would add to standard ammunition" (shouts to JoshSpear). Ahem....How SICK is this???

This is an incredible work of art.......released in 2003, this film is basically the album "Discovery" (By Daft Punk) come to life...The film was produced by the creators of the Discovery album, along with Toei Animation, under the supervision of Leiji Matsumoto...In it, you'll hear classics like "One More Time" (which has somehow become the Playboy Mansion Anthem), and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"..I've always loved this, and I feel that I went on such a fashion overload this week, I must give you something else from my medulla luckygotta.....enjoy!

Lucky aka the "Rock Lee" of this ish!

Samoy Lenko Spring Summer 2009........A Modern Day Fairy Tale

"Samoy Lenko’s Spring/Summer 2009 collection, See-Line Woman, continues a curious narrative conceived by designer Natasha Samoylenko. Deriving inspiration from the sensual spirit of both Nina Simone’s song and the intimacy of a 1920’s French boudoir, the collection: a palette of luxurious fabrics, vivid colors, and sensual shapes, is full of dreamy dresses in lustrous hues and fluid separates alternating from shiny to matte textures"....Not only are these dressed beautiful but you notice the artistry used to bring them to life? I love the use of fairy tales in each picture (its about time someone showed love to Rumpelstiltskin)....This is a very good look come Spring ladies! I've taken the liberty of posting a location you can find this brand (i gotta start doing that more)

New York Couture..........Oh Yes, I does this Mean!

"New York Couture is funky, fancy, fun to wear dresses, skirts, and tops. Each piece is hand cut, sewn, and detailed. 25-year-old designer Cassie K. is as unique as her designs. Imagine Betsy Johnson merging with Cyndi Lauper and Cassie’s eclectic designs come to mind".....this is some SICKNESS because not only has her work been worn by celebrities such as actress Leelee Sobieski, singer Lumidee, model/actress Vanessa Simmons (my future wife)....it reeeeeks of creativity! Pics are below, and don't forget the site people!

"Good Wood"- Skateboard Art.........Giving Back

Man, I love when art brings out "the goods"...."The exhibition brings together 45 different artists who’ve designed a stunning selection of decks. Styles range from collage, graffiti, acrylic, oil, ink, silkscreen and photography to sculpture. Some of the big players in the show include Chuck Anderson (No Pattern), Nathan Fox, Leo Espinosa, Matt Gordon, Don Kilpatrick and John Breiner"(Shouts to DART) as well as Fernanda Cohen. The great thing is this event will be benefiting Stoked Mentoring, a non-profit sports organization for youth, which will receive fifty percent of the profits from gallery sales.....I know I'm late with the poster, but its never too late people....go show some love....if not for me, do it for you!

Chromeo- Mammas Boy (You Freudian Psychopaths Are Loving This)

This is a siiiiick video (in a good way I mean), but I know this will be discussed for some time in Psychology classes all over the United States and even beyond....shouts to Chromeo for giving the people Art in more ways than one...oh for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about....listen to the song, again, and look up "Oedipus Complex"....if you still don't get it, I feel sorry for you!

Glue Jeans: "Sticky Situation" (Hey, I think I'm Entitled To One Corny Opener, ok?)

"Denim manufacture Glue Jeans does just what their company name implies: instead of stitching the denim together, they've glued it with a super holding glue. What seems like a cleaver gimmick actually looks really cool. Raw denim next to the heavy lines of red glue gives it a sharp look. It’s different enough to turn heads" (Shouts to JS). This product has been put through the tests for two years now, so I think they have a pretty good hold. I am more of a "Cut&Sew" type, but I like the look....not saying I'll try it, but I'm definately not knocking it!

Tony Ariawan: "She Haunts Me Everyday" aka Luckysthoughtsexactly (meant to do that btw)

I hate and admire Josh Spear for the same reason as everyone else. The man is credited as being a trendspotter, but I look at him as a "guru". He put me on this sick piece by Tony Ariawan. "Ariawan, using a simple vector program (and a little help from Photoshop), turns photos into what we think is either a photon ballet or a very sexy update to Tron". I don't think there is another person in love with Tron more than me.....or Tony Ariawan.
